Terms of Service

Last updated 5 August 2026

1. These terms

TradeBook is operated by Benjamin Hyde t/as TradeBook (ABN 45 326 852 642) (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using TradeBookyou agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app. Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 and using TradeBook for a business or trade. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

3. Trial, subscription and billing

  • Every new account gets a 14-day free trial, starting when the account is created.
  • After the trial, continued access needs a paid Sole Trader subscription: $14.99 per month or $159.99 per year. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where it applies.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each period until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
  • You can cancel any time from Settings → Billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Except where the Australian Consumer Law requires otherwise, payments already made are not refundable for part-used periods.
  • We may change prices. We’ll give you reasonable notice, and changes only take effect from your next renewal.

4. Your data stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you put into TradeBook— jobs, receipts, photos, client details and invoices. You give us permission to store and process it only so far as we need to run the app for you. You can export it at any time from Settings → Data & Account, and we recommend doing so regularly.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, including any personal information about your clients.

5. Receipt scanning is automated — check it

TradeBook reads receipts using automated tools, including third-party AI services. This is a convenience, not a guarantee. Extracted merchants, dates, amounts, GST and line items can be wrong, incomplete, or misread.

You must check scanned figures before relying on them for quoting, invoicing, BAS or tax. We are not responsible for losses arising from acting on unverified scanned data.

6. Not financial, tax or legal advice

TradeBook helps you record costs and produce invoices. It does not give accounting, tax or legal advice. GST calculations, invoice layouts and job costing are tools to assist you, not a substitute for your accountant or bookkeeper. You remain responsible for meeting your ATO and record-keeping obligations.

7. Reminders are best-effort

Job reminders are delivered through your device and third-party push services. They can be delayed or missed if your device is offline, notifications are switched off, or a push service fails. Don’t rely on TradeBook as your only reminder for anything important.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use TradeBook for anything unlawful or fraudulent;
  • upload material you don’t have the right to, or that is harmful or offensive;
  • attempt to access other users’ data, break security, or probe the service for vulnerabilities;
  • resell or redistribute the service, or automate access in a way that burdens it;
  • reverse engineer or copy the app.

9. Availability

We aim to keep TradeBookrunning but don’t promise uninterrupted access. It depends on services we don’t control, and we may need to take it down for maintenance, or change or discontinue features. We’ll give notice of significant changes where we reasonably can.

10. Our intellectual property

The app itself — its software, design and branding — belongs to us. Your subscription is permission to use it, not a transfer of ownership.

11. Ending your account

You can stop using TradeBook and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where payment fails. Export your data before closing your account — once deleted, we may not be able to recover it.

12. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited (at our option) to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.

13. Liability

Subject to section 12, TradeBookis provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for TradeBook in that period.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use TradeBook after a change means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
