You’re in.

Getting started with TradeBook.

Three things, in this order. Together they take about five minutes, and after them the quarter largely looks after itself.

  1. 1

    Scan a receipt

Photograph the docket at the counter. TradeBook reads the merchant, date, total, GST and the line items — you are checking it, not typing it.

Fuel, timber, fittings, a coffee for the client. If it has a docket, it can go in.

  2. 2

    Put it against a job

Assign the receipt to the job it belongs to. Spend lands against that job's budget straight away, so the remaining figure on the job screen is the real one.

No job yet? Scan it anyway and assign it later — it waits in Unassigned.

  3. 3

Let the quarter add itself up

G1, 1A and 1B fill in from what you have already scanned and invoiced. The $75k turnover tracker sits beside them, so registering for GST is never a surprise.

Nothing here is lodged for you. It is the worksheet, ready for your BAS.

Worth knowing early.

  • Your first 14 days are free, and nothing is charged until they are up.
  • Add your ABN and payment details in Settings before your first invoice — they print on every invoice and quote.
  • Book jobs into the schedule for a reminder before you're due on site, and a one-tap “on my way” text to the client.
